Eligibility Criteria

Wondering if you can appear for the CAT examination? Don’t worry—whether you are a graduate, a final-year student, or an experienced working professional, you are good to go! There is no age limit, making it open to everyone. Let’s talk about the eligibility criteria of the CAT examination:

• Candidates must score 50 percent in graduation from any stream (45 percent for SC/ST/PwD candidates).
• Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or any equivalent degree, like CA/CS/ICWA.
• Candidates who are in the final year of their bachelor’s degree programme are eligible for the CAT exam.
• Candidates' bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) must be recognized by UGC/AICTE/MHRD-Govt.
• There’s no upper age limit to sit for the CAT.

The CAT exam is conducted through a computer-based test (CBT) mode. Here you can enter your answers on your computer by using a mouse. For TITA (Type in the Answer) questions, you can use the keyboard. For each CAT question, you will be given four options from which you need to select the correct answer.
